2024 Engagement Australia Excellence Awards Winners Announced

Engagement Australia is pleased to announce the winners of the 2024 Engagement Australia Excellence Awards.

Supported by our sponsors University of Melbourne and UNSW, Sydney. The Engagement Australia Excellence Awards focus on outstanding nation-building initiatives, demonstrating far-reaching impact and innovation, in all sectors and aspects of the Australian economy and community.

At a gala dinner held in Melbourne, the work of 35 finalists across 8 award categories were celebrated. The winning submissions were:

Excellence in Community Engagement: University of Sydney, Service Learning in Indigenous Communities (SLIC)

Excellence in Indigenous Engagement: University of Technology Sydney, Aboriginal Community Justice Reports for Sentencing Courts

Excellence in Industry Engagement: Griffith University, Sea Jellies Illuminated

Excellence in International Engagement: Australian National University, Science Circus International

Outstanding Engagement for Student Learning: University of Technology Sydney (Centre of Social Justice and Inclusion), UTS Shopfront: Connecting community and students

Outstanding Engagement for Research Impact: University of Sydney, Advancing Refugee Employment

Excellence in Student and/or Alumni Engagement: Griffith University, Griffith Sports College

Outstanding Leadership in Engagement: Dr Joanne Orlando, Western Sydney University

Engagement Australia Chair and  Vice-President Societal Impact, Equity and Engagement (UNSW, Sydney) Professor the Hon.
