🔍 About the Program

This immersive certificate course is designed for educators and practitioners in higher education who are passionate about integrating community engagement into their teaching. Participants will explore the principles, practices, and impact of service-learning (SL), with a strong focus on pedagogical design and real-world application.

🧠 What You’ll Learn

• Core theories and models of academic service-learning
• Designing and evaluating SL programs
• Facilitating student reflection and assessing performance
• Navigating risks and enhancing impact
• On-site project visits in Manila, including education, health, and community-based initiatives

📚 Course Structure

• E-learning module and concept test
• 40 hours of face-to-face learning in Manila (lectures, seminars, site visits)
• Personalised feedback on your own SL program design

🎓 Certification

Participants who successfully complete the course will receive a PolyU Continuing Education Certificate.

USD $500 (includes materials)
Financial aid available for eligible participants upon completion.

👥 Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree from a recognised institution
• Priority given to staff in higher education
