TACSI is the Australian Center for Social Innovation. As part of the Engagement Australia conference TACSI will deliver a 4-hour workshop on co-designing with and for communities. Topics covered in the workshop include: frameworks for thinking about practical options for co-design and co-production; a framework for a design based process for planning and organising co-design projects; an exploration of the space where co-design meets research, and the various ways researchers can work in participatory ways with communities; and tools and approaches for co-design

Solving our community’s most challenging problems needs the collective efforts of citizens, policy makers, researchers and creatives. Experience the power of collective action in a session of games and stimulating conversation, brought to you by the dynamic collaboration of Boho Interactive and the ANU PHXchange.
Engage in the excitement as you play Found in Translation, a cutting-edge tabletop game for grown-ups. Using a kitchen analogy, the game is designed to reimagine collaboration and creative thinking. Will the kitchen and service teams find a way to earn that 5-star rating? The game is just the beginning, join us afterwards for a stimulating conversation and personal reflection about how you can become an engaged researcher.

In this keynote talk, Jonathan Grant will draw from his book, The New Power University, to illustrate why a different (or rediscovered) purpose for universities is necessary in the 21st century through the application of a new set of values that puts social responsibility and impact at the core of the university mission.
