Telling Stories for Impact Workshop

Telling Stories for Impact Workshop

The road to social change involves inspiring others to action. And the success of these efforts – whether it be advocacy, fundraising, grant writing or community building – comes down to storytelling. In this workshop you’ll work on unlocking an impact story of your choosing, using Digital Storytellers’ Story Canvas methodology to captivate, connect and inspire audiences and communities.

This workshop will explore:

  • The Story Canvas – A tool for developing strategic story ideas, with consideration of purpose, audience, key messages, call to action, people and places, style and tone, campaign and impact.
  • Narrative structures for communicating impact
  • Collective ideation on how story-driven processes (listening, weaving and telling) can be incorporated into leadership and community engagement on specific projects and initiatives from participants
