Holiday Message From The Chair

As Chair of Engagement Australia can I take this opportunity to wish you and your family all the very best for the festive season. It has been a busy year and I hope you find time to relax, spend time with your loved ones and recharge the batteries.  My thanks to everyone involved in EA for their hard work and commitment this year to a cause that we all cherish and believe in. In particular, I would like to thank my fellow Board members for their focused efforts on making sure EA champions the unique role universities have within society to address contemporary global challenges and trends through teaching, learning, research and partnerships. In 2019 we will be working even more closely with members in order to create a space for senior managers and executives to explore issues and challenges relating to the engagement agenda in higher education. However, in the meantime I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family all the very best over the Christmas and New Year period.

Symposium Wrap Up
Critically Engaged Universities Of The Future

The 2018 Engagement Australia Symposium themed ‘Critically Engaged Universities of the Future’ saw 60 senior leaders in university engagement come together in Brisbane from all over Australia and New Zealand.

The Symposium, hosted by the Australian Catholic University on their Brisbane campus in partnership with Flinders University, heard from some of Australia’s leading experts about new models of university engagement developed by leaders of the sector, by the sector and for the sector. The Symposium also facilitated the launch of the third edition of Transform: the Journal of Engaged Scholarship, which captures in detail many of the contributions made during the event.
