Engagement Australia Conference 2019
The 2019 Engagement Australia Conference is being held on the 29th and 30th of August at the Australian Catholic University Leadership Centre in Brisbane, Qld.
The Conference will galvanise and inspire leaders and practitioners committed to advancing new approaches and opportunities for civic engagement and social responsibility by Australian universities in their surrounding communities, cities and regions. It will enable engagement leaders, managers and practitioners to explore the purpose or ‘re-purposing’ of their institution in the context of global trends that are changing and reshaping the role of the university towards a ‘civic’ institution with crucial connections to its local and regional communities as well as its ‘value constituents’.
The Conference will give leaders and practitioners the opportunity to come together and hear from senior University Engagement Officers including Vice Chancellors, Deputy Vice Chancellors (Engagement), Pro Vice Chancellors (Engagement) and Vice Presidents (Engagement) as well as senior leaders and practitioners about current trends and strategies that have implications for learning, teaching and research in relation to social and civic engagement.
Professor George Holmes, one of the authors featured in our most recent Transform Journal, will be speaking at this event, along with over 10 other university leaders.
