Season’s Greetings

Season’s Greetings

As Chair of Engagement Australia (EA) can I take this opportunity to wish you and your family all the very best for the festive season. The third decade of the 21st Century is proving to be a time of great challenge and change for universities however as we witnessed at our inaugural Engagement Australia Excellence Awards this month our universities have risen to the challenge and responded to the change with an enormous range of truly world class engagement programs and projects.  We end this unprecedented year on a truly inspirational note by celebrating the very best engagement activities undertaken by Australian universities, which can be enjoyed via the following link: engagement-australia-2020-excellence-awards.

As the holiday season fast approaches, I hope you find time to relax, spend time with your loved ones and recharge the batteries.  My thanks to everyone involved in EA for their hard work and commitment this year.  I would particularly like to thank my fellow Board members for their outstanding contribution this year in advancing the engagement agenda that we all cherish.

And as we look to the New Year which we know will continue to be one of great challenge and great change, we also see that there is great opportunity.  Nation building will proceed and University Engagement will need to be at the leading edge of this.  As the peak alliance of engaged universities EA is committed to rising to this leadership challenge.  Our task in 2021, as ever, is to ask the questions and facilitate the thinking needed to get to the answers.

Can I take this opportunity to wish you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  I am looking forward to working with you, and for you, in 2021.

Kindest regards,
Jim
